Some stories about humans befriending animals seem so surreal, they might as well be taken right out of a movie; but for Edgar, a rancher from Loncupué, Argentina, it just happens to be true. He found an injured condor in his yard and helped the huge bird recover, saving his life.
Ever since that day, the condor has been so grateful to Edgar that he keeps coming back to the ranch. “We were healing him from an injury that did not seem to be serious and from that day he approaches me every time I call him,” Edgar said. Apparently, the condor had a broken leg and when consulted with wildlife people from the area, they told him the bird probably lost contact with his parents.
