A dog named Hirra adopted three orphaned kittens, which workers found at the plant in Stora Enso Anjalankoski. Usually dogs act as foster mothers only for other puppies, but kittens seem to have awakened maternal instincts in Hirra.
Last week employees of the plant in Stora Enso Anjalankoski heard plaintive peep, and found in one of the secluded corners in production to three kittens. Mother was not around. When it appeared the next day, the workers decided to take the kittens to the shelter for abandoned animals. – When kittens brought to us, they were on a week old – eyes just opened. Kittens were very hungry and thin, apparently, mother-the cat refused them after childbirth, – MEA Uski, the employee of a shelter comments.
Living in a shelter dog named Hirra immediately showed the kittens clearly of interest. Hirrafirst felt a year ago and after she fed her puppies, her maternal instincts woke up. Hirra took the kittens under her care and nursed them as relatives.
The kittens are fed milk from a bottle, Hirra washes them after feeding and sleeps with them on his couch. If the kittens are in their box, Hirra periodically comes in to check if they’ve got good licks and gently touch the kittens paw. Cherry daughter from the first litter, Verka, we stayed in the shelter, and now Hirra and teaches her how to care for the kittens – laughing Uski.
