“My family and I we have bred Siberian Huskies for combat veterans, Purple Heart recipients, combat wounded veterans,” Hommer says. “I sent him the story on this dog. I said, “check this dog out and the incredible story,” and he was so moved by it and emotional that he was like ‘I have to have this dog’.”
“Having a dog, it’s something to wake up and fight for and especially a lot of these vets they are struggling to find a reason to get up in the day,” says Hommer.
However, as the number of people who wanted to adopt lovely Rudolph was really huge, the staff from the shelter wanted to make sure he ends up in the right hands.
The beautiful thing is that the pup found his perfect home eventually. His new owner, a young man the dog grew very fond of will make sure Rudolph gets the life he deserves.
Although it’s very nice how so many people were interested in welcoming Rudolph in their home, the sad thing is that shelters across the country are full of dogs who are waiting for someone special to come along and save them. Why does it take a story like Rudolph’s for a dog to become wanted? I believe we should all think about it.
As for this miracle dog, we can’t be happier that he got his happy ending.
