Even though dog fighting is illegal, there are still many active fight rings all over the country. Every year, thousands of pit bulls die because of this wicked demand placed on innocent animals. Here, you’re going to meet a pit bull named Precious, who was used as a bait dog, but has gone through an incredible, miraculous transformation.
One day, somebody alerted the rescue team at Love That Dog Hollywood to a bait dog who was bleeding out on the streets of Los Angeles. A bait dog is used as a punching bag to make fighting dogs more aggressive.
When they arrived at the place where Precious was, they found her emaciated, bleeding excessively, and almost lifeless. They thought that she would never survive. As you’ll see in the incredible video below, Shelley, Precious’s foster mom, had a hard time talking about Precious’s nightmarish life, and even broke down in tears.
The photos of Precious at the start of the video were taken while she was recovering. Her ears had been bitten off by other dogs. She was going through treatment to repair as much of her ears as possible. The purple of the wounds on her face was caused by an antiseptic used to prevent infection.
It took two long years to get her to a place where she was finally ready for her forever home, but all of it was worth it. Precious has recovered, and she’s finally a happy and healthy dog. And, guess what? Precious was recently adopted by her forever mom. She’ll never have to experience pain or neglect again!
