A touching story about two unlikely friends, who found each other – against all odds.
This is the story of a German shepherd and an infant opossum called Poncho, who was found on the side of a street, clinging to the lifeless body of his mom. She was hit by a car, but she somehow managed to reach her baby before finally losing the battle with her injuries.
Poncho didn’t know that his mommy was dead, he thought she was just resting and so he just sat by her. But the truth was that Poncho was all alone and chances were he wouldn’t make it. The vets took over the situation and cared for the little infant, but without his mom the progress was slow.
But then he was introduced to Hantu, a white German shepherd, who never had puppies of her own. The two immediately formed an unbreakable bond of love.
She recognized the little opossum was longing for maternal love and she had lots of it to give, so without anyone showing her how to care for this strange animal, Hantu instinctively knew what Poncho needed. She became his mother and his best friend.
Now, Hantu can seldom be seen without her little – but steadily growing – friend firmly holding on to her back, as they take long walks through the woods together.
