Freestyle is a relatively new sport that combines elements of obedience and dance in the most amazing way. The dog and the man behind the music make a variety of movement, subordinated to one idea of dance. In most of trainings the leading role belongs to the dog-its qualities and talent are evaluated.
In freestyle, the pair as a whole is evaluated – its harmony, coherence of movements, artistry. There are no very clear rules of the road – it’s just a dance. The dog can do a variety of motion – passes at feet, turns, movement, backwards and sideways, jumping, stands and many other things.
