Massive Whale Pushes Diver, Then She Realizes It’s Warning Her Of Danger Closeby

When whale biologist Nan Hauser, 63, went snorkeling with her team in the beautiful blue ocean, she had no idea just how close of an encounter she would have with a hungry predator. Nan knew not to panic, but when you’re out in the middle of the ocean and the rest of your team is floating on a boat, you become a sitting duck. That is, until a giant creature came to her rescue.

Nan and her team were able to capture incredible footage under the water and up close to this creature who instinctively protected Nan as a 15-foot-long tiger shark lurked nearby.

Nan did not expect this massive animal to be so maternal. The 50,000-pound humpback whale made a move the woman would never forget. The whale literally pushed her through the water with its head and mouth, then tucked her under its pectoral fin.

At one point, the humpback whale even lifted Nan clear out of the water, so she waved at her team back on the boat.

The biologist doesn’t believe this example of the whale’s intuitive nature to protect other species of animals, even humans, has ever been captured on film until now.
