Studying extinct species long ago is not an easy science and requires specific skills. At the same time, almost every few days paleontologists discover new varieties or consider known from completely unexpected sides. Opabinia regalis was opened in 1912, and then twice more — in 1930 and 1972 (only then it was found that all three discoveries — this is one species).
This little arthropod, about 500 million years old, often makes the uninitiated laugh because of its strange appearance. Elongated body, five eyes on short stalks and unusual habituality appendage with a claw at the end — obviously to get food.
