Sometimes, all you need is a best friend and a partner in crime to lift your spirits. The adorable pup Osiris, a three-year-old Dutch Shepherd, has been depressed for a while because had no one to play with, but then a very unlikely friendship formed.

Animal friendships are truly heartwarming, especially when they seem like the unlikeliest of friends.

When Osiris was just a little puppy, he was left behind like trash by his previous owners. The four-footer was completely abandoned in a parking lot and didn’t know what to do, but luckily, people who were passing by notified animal rescuers.

It didn’t take long before a foster home was found for the adorable Dutch Shepherd. In fact, the family who took him in was head over heels in love with him and decided to keep him permanently instead of taking care of him until he was ready for adoption. Osiris was a part of the family now!

Osiris finally had a loving home and received plenty of attention and tender loving care, but he was missing one crucial thing in his life: an animal best friend.

Meeting Riff the rat completely turned the pup’s life around for the better.

Even though Riff is only a fraction of the dog’s size and just three months old, these two get along incredibly well. Who said that a rat and a pup couldn’t be the best of friends?

Admittedly, Osiris’ parents were really worried that the two wouldn’t be able to stand each other – or even worse, that the dog would try to hurt Riff the rat in any way. However, those fears were completely unnecessary because these two are now practically inseparable!
